When I survey the wondrous cross
on which the Prince of Glory died;
my richest gain I count but loss,
and pour contempt on all my pride.
Forbid it, Lord, that I should boast,
save in the death of Christ, my God;
all the vain things that charm me most,
I sacrifice them to his blood.
See, from his head, his hands, his feet,
sorrow and love flow mingled down.
Did e’er such love and sorrow meet,
or thorns compose so rich a crown.
Were the whole realm of nature mine,
that were an offering far too small;
love so amazing, so divine,
demands my soul, my life, my all.
I will be your God throughout your lifetime—until your hair is white with age. I made you, and I will care for you. I will carry you along and save you. (Isaiah 46:4)
Wherever I go, whatever I do, I bear His identity.
God told Moses to take his shoes off because the holiness on which he stood was meant to be experienced without barriers. The modern church would have told Him to go stand somewhere else so that He wouldn’t get the Holy ground dirty with his sinful feet. Here is a clue, God’s holiness isn’t fragile, its all consuming. He’ll mess up your sin far before you mess up His goodness.
Prodigal Son - JT Williams
If someone asks about your Christian hope, always be ready to explain it. But do this in a gentle and respectful way.
"I pray because I can’t help myself. I pray because I’m helpless. I pray because the need flows out of me all the time, walking and sleeping. It doesn’t change God, it changes me." C.S.Lewis
We often pray that God’s will come to pass in our life, yet do we really know what we are asking? What He commands of us requires complete sacrifice of SELF (Rom 12). Do we really love Him like we say we do? “If you love Me, keep My commands,” (John 14:15). Do we deny ourselves on a daily basis (Matt 16:24)? Is it possible that we can really obey and trust God wholeheartedly? Yes! Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come (2 Corinth 5:17). God’s will for our life requires a spiritual circumcision! We are crucifying our flesh! Death to self! He must increase, I must decrease (John 3:30)! Without holiness, we will not see the Lord (Heb 12:14)! Pursue Jesus Christ with all of your heart. Delight yourself in the Lord! I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus (Phil 3:14).
